The Anti-D Antibodies Titre Test is a blood test used to detect and measure the level of Anti-D antibodies in the blood. These antibodies may develop in Rh-negative individuals when exposed to Rh-positive red blood cells.
This test is particularly important during pregnancy, as maternal Anti-D antibodies may cross the placenta and affect the red blood cells of an Rh-positive baby.
Detects Anti-D antibodies in the blood.
Measures the antibody titre to assess antibody levels.
Helps monitor Rh sensitisation during pregnancy.
Supports the assessment of potential haemolytic disease of the fetus and newborn (HDFN).
Helps healthcare professionals monitor maternal antibody levels when clinically indicated.
Sample Type: Serum
Department: Immunology / Blood Bank
Fasting is generally not required.
Inform your healthcare provider about your Rh blood group and pregnancy history, if applicable.
Mention any previous blood transfusions or Anti-D immunoglobulin injections.
Follow specific sample collection instructions provided by the laboratory.
Anti-D antibody titres are particularly relevant in the management of Rh-negative pregnancies. Results should be interpreted alongside maternal blood group, pregnancy history, previous Anti-D prophylaxis, and clinical findings. A healthcare professional should determine the need for further monitoring or treatment.
Reporting Time: To be confirmed by the laboratory.
Please confirm test availability and sample collection requirements with the laboratory before booking.
